Life continues as the Beginning
1 John 1:1 That which
was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our
eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the
Word of life (Jesus Christ).
1 John 2:7 Brethren,
I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had
from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from
the beginning.
1 John 2:13 I write
to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
1 John 2:14 I have
written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning.
1 John 2:24 therefore
let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you
heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son
and in the Father.
1 John 3:11 for this
is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love
one another,
What the Apostle John
was emphasizing is our life, walk and work for Christ needs to be the same as
they were taught in the beginning. What was the main message that was taught from
the beginning: Love! We as Christians are to Love God first of all and demonstrate
this by loving our fellow Christians, our neighbors and enemies.

If we Love God then
we will obey His word. John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. The
commandments that Jesus taught were His teachings on life and ministry.
Mat 28:19 “Go
therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20 “teaching
them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
All of the things
that Jesus taught His disciples were to continue by making more disciples until
Christ comes back. These beginnings of teachings are to be the same as
Jesus taught throughout the history of the Church, until He returns.
What did Jesus teach
the disciples to do? Obviously the main message was love and if we love God we
will do all He ask. What kind of ministry should we and the disciples have? Mat
10:7 “and as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Mat 10:8 “Heal the
sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have
received, freely give.
Luke 9:1 Then He
called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all
demons, and to cure diseases.
Luke 9:2 He sent them
to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Luke 10:9 “And heal
the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
Mat 11:4 Jesus
answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
Mat 11:5 “The blind
see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are
raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

So we can see from
the above scriptures that disciples are to proclaim the Gospel (Christ died on
the cross for our sins, buried then resurrected) and to heal the sick, cast out
demons, raise the dead and say the Kingdom of God is present. Why is the Church not doing these things?
Miracles are to
follow the preaching of the Word of God and the Gospel: Mark 16:17 “And these
signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they
will speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 “they will
take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt
them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Mark 16:19 so then,
after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down
at the right hand of God.
Mar 16:20 and they
went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the
word through the accompanying signs. Amen. The life and teachings of Jesus are
to be the same always from the beginning to the end. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
